Erfreuliche Nachrichten für den WAKO Weltverband

Während meines Urlaubs erhielt ich folgende Nachricht des Weltverbandes.

Good evening from New Zealand everyone

I am very pleased to report that WAKO Oceania was officially constituted on Saturday 26th July. This is an historic moment for WAKO in this part of the world; not only due to the formation of the Federation itself but also because it’s establishment recognizes the first of WAKO’s Pacific Island nations, Samoa.

The executive of WAKO Oceania is currently made up of the following:

President: Peter Thompson (NZ)

Vice President: Francis McArdle (Australia)

Board Member: Andrew (Mike) Ah Kau (Samoa)

General Secretary: Saniya Yusipova (NZ)

Various committees and the like will be established shortly, but in the meantime please contact me directly regarding any Oceania queries.

Please also join me in welcoming Andrew (Mike) Ah Kau into the WAKO family.

Mike has a long history in kickboxing and has achieved a number of significant milestones in kickboxing. To

name a few:

Opening Samoa’s first every Kickboxing School, and teaching Kickboxing for 12 years.

Starting the Muay Thai Samoa Association

Sending Samoa’s first kickboxing teams to compete in Australia and New Zealand

Mike is excited to be now involved with WAKO and is looking forward to meeting and working with other WAKO members to develop and grow WAKO in Samoa and other Pacific Islands.

Finally, I must also recognize the assistance in helping establish WAKO Oceania from the following people; Espen Lund, Horst Prelog and Roy Baker. Thank you, your assistance and contributions have been gratefully received.

I look forward to the future and to seeing you all in Italy!

Kind Regards

 Pete
